Hurricane Gustav They are saying this is going to be a Cat 5. This will be billions in damage, and many lives lost. As I write this, 81 people have died already. If you are in the Keys, get out!! Head to the East. Godspeed to everyone in the storm's way, to those who decide to stay. If the storm was headed to my area, and though I live in a solid brick house, I'd be gone. If you stay, please, please, have plenty of supplies, especially water. And I want to see other countries offer their help to us, as we Americans have done many times for other countries in need. I'm in Pinellas County, Florida, and my area will get major waves, and all of the surfers will be out there on the Gulf, including a brother, and possibly the Lopez brothers. If I can, maybe I'll upload some pics from my cell phone...it is expensive though. But I'm not sure I want to be out there to begin with. Though I will be far from a direct hit, the winds will still be very high, at least 75 MPH. Contributor's Note I have lived in the same area since 1971, 5 minutes from the beach. I have been through many hurricane scares.
